ABOUT
The Landing is seeking its entitlements to become a lasting business within the community. Our team is working with engineers and environmentalists to ensure our footprint is designed intelligently with minimal desert impact. Dark skies, healthy wildlife, safe waste management, fire abatement, and clean water are core principles for our project.

DESIGN
Our core design celebrates the vibrant history of area, while ensuring top comfort for our guests. The landscape and architecture is contextual to the high desert, blending into its environment.
We’ve teamed up with the architects at West of West to ensure beautiful structures that are intelligently engineered. The team has excellent experience on large-scale projects across the west coast, ensuring sustainability and timeless design.
UTILITIES
We are located in a fragile ecosystem of the Mojave desert. All our utilities are being engineered by professionals in their field and will exceed the base limits of San Bernardino County. Specific information on these utilities will be available to the public through the county website once completed.
OUR TEAM
Locally owned by Sam Friedman and Ben Toffey, we are looking to build a creative and operational team of desert locals.
SAM FRIEDMAN
Sam, a native Californian, started his career in urban mobility and technology. His passion for the desert outdoors pulled him into off-grid sustainability projects and local real estate design. He is excited to build an intelligent desert business, one that is forward-thinking and environmentally sustainable.
BEN TOFFEY
Ben is a resident of Landers and a landscape designer in Palm Springs and the high desert. From skateparks and pools to kitchen gardens and orchards, Ben has a passion for creating liveable outdoor spaces. Originally his background stems from hospitality business and culinary arts, managing the opening of unique and successful restaurant projects in Los Angeles. With his hardworking team, he hopes to offer Landers a new and worthy food stop.
